[产品来源] 本品为杜鹃花科熊果属植物熊果Arctostaphylos uva-ursi的叶的提取物。匍匐性小型灌木，株高约5-30厘米。老茎褐色，嫩茎通常为绿色，不过在日照较强的地区嫩茎则呈现红色。叶为常绿性，可以持续生长在树上1-3年才会掉落，叶小，单叶，互生，倒卵形，质地硬且厚；叶面光亮，叶暗绿色，叶背的颜色比叶面淡。在春天开花，花期3~6月，花小，白色或粉红色。果实为红色的浆果。

[Herbal description]: This product is Rhododendron bear fruit plants bear fruit of Arctostaphylos uva-ursi leaf extract. Creeping small shrub, plant height of about 5-30 cm. Old stems brown, tender bine is usually green, but in strong sunshine in young stems are red. Leaves evergreen, continue to grow in the tree 1-3 year will fall, leaves small, simple, alternate, obovate, hard texture and thick; bright foliage leaves, dark green, foliaceous back color than leaf light. Blossom in spring, florescence 3 ~ June, the flowers are small, white or pink. Fruit is a red berry.

Medicinal Use: 
Ursolic acid has medicinally action, both topically and internally. Ursolic acid is used in many cosmetic preparations for its anti-inflammatory, antitumor and antimicrobial properties. 
Ursolic acid has antibacterial and antifungal activity. Tests have shown that Ursolic acid inhibits the growth of Candida albicans and Microsporium lenosum. 
Ursolic acid has anti-inflammatory properties and is used in ointments to treat burns.
Topical application of ursolic acid inhibited TPA-induced initiation and promotion of tumor growth
